Another day, another graduating senior! āŗ Meet Hali, whoās graduating from Florida High School and headed off to her life in college! We met up with Hali and her mom on a chilly late afternoon at one of Haliās potential campuses-to-be to get some shots to celebrate Haliās huge accomplishment. Hali was such a sweet young woman, but was a bit nervous about being in front of the camera. Ausbee and I werenāt worried though, weāre always up for that challenge! We quickly got the lighting set-up, and I worked on growing an extra set of hands to hold everything steady in the strong winds of the day. Hali took the winds and temperature like a champ, posing for some really adorable shots right away!
The grand fountain on FSUās main campus looked great in these shots, the water cold and clear while Haliās smiles were big and bright. We tried a few simple posing varieties, giving Hali the chance to show her lovely personality without feeling too much āmodeling pressureā.
Hali happened to also be a musician and planned to take her talents on to college, so of course we made sure to work her instrument into the session! Sheās quite the talented clarinet player, and Ausbee and I were very excited to get several shots of Hali doing her thing. The day was just getting colder however, and as I retired band nerd, I recognized the need to minimize the delicate woodās exposure to the elements. So we grabbed a few quick shots while Haliās mom hid the clarinet in her jacket between flashes!
Next up, you guys know Ausbee and I LOVE a good confetti shot, so we gave Hali a handful and got to snapping!
We then moved over to the front steps of this lovely brick auditorium on campus, where Hali hopes to be showcasing her talents very soon! We got some lovely shots of Hali here, smiling big while we talked about her hopes for the future. I wish Iād gotten Ausbee to get a few surprise shots of mom while we were talking, she didnāt know it but she was grinning ear-to-ear in pride, listening to her daughter talk about her plans for her life. It was a such a sweet moment for everyone, and brought a nice ending to this part of the session. We packed up our gear, and it was off to the next location!
A quick outfit and location change got us some more great shots with this lovely young lady right in the heart of downtown. Her casual yellow shirt looked great in the golden light of the setting sun, and gave some great contrast to the stark white bridge. Hali seemed even more relaxed here, and Ausbee and I just let her do her thing.
As usual, I whipped up some of my creative flair and did a little chalk graffiti work to wrap up the session. Haliās favorite color was blue, so the design worked well with the lights that shone on the bridge. Hali was super happy with the shots weād gotten, and said sheād had more fun that sheād thought. (Well thanks Hali!š)
As we headed back down to our cars after finishing up on the bridge, Hali spotted a mural on the wall near the vehicles and just HAD to get some pics next to it. Of course we couldnāt disappoint, and we were more than glad that we didnāt! These shots turned out to be our favorites of the bunch. The red of the building just looks gorgeous in the low light of the late evening and Hali is just positively glowing! So glad to have been able to provide these memories for her of such a special occasion.
Upon delivery of the photos, Haliās mom loved them so much she requested our customized invitations package. Check out Haliās designs below! I was so excited to make these for Hali, and even more excited for her to send them out. Congratulations Hali, and good luck heading off into your future. š
