Engagement Session
Florida A&M University
At first glance you can tell Alaysha & Ricky's love is eternal. Just the way that they compliment each other they're a perfect match. They contacted us interested in doing an engagement shoot at the place where they’d first found each other, FAMU campus! Ausbee and I absolutely LOVE love, and we were super excited to capture this adorable engagement story. We met up at the iconic FAMU bushes to begin our session, wanting to mix in well-known elements of the campus with the interaction of these two lovebirds. As I began to setup and test our lighting, Ausbee took a few test shots of the happy couple, capturing their naturally playful natures.
The natural scenery on the campus was gorgeous, so we had the perfect backdrop to capture the love of these two people.
Ausbee and I didn’t have much work to do with these two, their easy love for each other played well on camera as they canoodled their way around Florida A&M’s campus. The warm sun shone in the background as we made our way to the eternal flame, posing them in a few positions on the main part of the campus. I LOVED the idea they had to both wear school paraphernalia, making the shots that much more adorable. Ricky and Alaysha gave us so much to work with here, just really loving each other, almost forgetting that the camera was there.
Ricky and Alaysha took a short break to change outfits while I created some chalk artwork to announce their wedding’s hashtag. I always enjoy getting to put my creative spin into a session, especially when its an unexpected spin!
A short journey to a Southwood park took us to the final part of this session. We photographed Ricky and Alaysha staring deep into one another’s eyes as the sun faded over the horizon. Their second outfits’ color scheme complemented each other well, and the soft pinks looked lovely in the surrounding scenery. We circled the small lake in the sunset, capturing some gorgeous shots in the process.
They were absolutely a joy to shoot with. Who knew what started off as a great FAMU friendship would thrive into a beautiful loving relationship? Congratulations Ricky and Alaysha, thank you for letting us be apart of something so special! :)
