Engagement Session
Fort Pickens, Pensacola, Fl
A short journey through the panhandle took us to Pensacola, Fl and the delightful company of this beautiful couple, C and J. Their unique love story and playful personalities made this engagement shoot that much more enjoyable. Our session began at the rustically romantic locale of Fort Pickens, which combined both beautiful architecture and amazing landscapes to set the perfect scene to emphasize the love between these two wonderful people.
We started off with a few playful shots in one of the archways of this gorgeous fort, to test the lighting and help get these two comfortable in front of the camera. Their good-natured dispositions came across easily, and the laughs they inspired helped to ease those photoshoot “jitters”.
C and J were so easy to photograph, their natural love for one another shining through each photo. We traveled deeper within the fort, finding locales even more beautiful than the last and just allowed the two of them to interact with each other. C and J did what seemed to come natural, and out came the beautiful shots you see below!
The fact that we’re a duo comes into handy often on shoots, and was especially helpful at this shoot in particular. Plus we got bonus points for Sherona always wearing her creative hat! This couple had brought along a cute little chalkboard prop for the shoot, but it was blank and both were scared to write on it! Luckily Sherona wasn’t afraid of the challenge, and I was able to keep the shoot flowing while she directed most of her attention to the task. Our teamwork even got the board into a few of the shots in the fort.
The incredible seaside scenery as we were exiting the fort meant that there was no way we weren’t going to try and stop to get some shots. Thank goodness C and J were game, and with little to no direction they absolutely delivered! Its always exciting to have clients who just naturally pop in front of the camera, but add in the dash of glamour of the sleek all black juxtaposed against the relaxed beach scenery and we were almost jumping with excitement to deliver these photos back!
We wrapped up this romantic shoot with an outfit change and a walk in the sands and along the water. We captured many fun shots of them just enjoying each other near the waves as the lowering sun faded in the skies behind them. The love between these two has such a fun side that is so endearingly sweet and comes through the lens with ease. We concluded the shoot with these two granting us the honor of photographing their wedding! We had so much fun shooting with this couple and can’t wait until we get to capture their love on their big day!
