Grad Session

FAMU’s beautiful campus once again! We met Raquel, a kind and somewhat shy grad-to-be, this warm summer morning for some gorgeous campus graduate shots. It was an interesting start with Raquel, who was a natural in front of the camera though she had somehow convinced herself that she couldn’t take a good picture. We were so glad to prove her wrong! We started off with some shots near the campus’ staple, the Eternal Flame. The beautiful orange of Raquel’s dress looked amazing in the warm gold tones of the sun, plus she got to put a big check in the school colors box!
We took a quick opportunity to snag a few shots with props that Raquel brought to celebrate her success. The wind was higher than expected, so we made sure to plan to add them in to a few more photos
Then we moved on down near FAMU’s beautiful fountains for some more sunkissed shots!
Raquel had a beautiful smile, and the bright vibrant colors of the background made for some great shots. Her natural ease in front of the camera shown through again, as she posed near the clear water without much direction. We made sure to point this out to her while showing her a few shots, which gave us all quite a laugh then. She couldn’t help but admit that she could take a good picture then!
Then a short field trip took us to Raquel’s second location selection, FAMU’S iconic bushes, and some more awesome shots!
Another short trip and an outfit change took us to the final portion of the session
Raquel had brought along a small surprise for the last portion of her session, her sister who was graduating also! She also included her best friend in the celebratory shots. The signs constructed at FAMU’s semi-new roundabout seem to have become a well-deserved hotspot shooting location, and they did not disappoint this time either. We were able to rework in those balloon props again, and also got some great shots of Raquel interacting with her family. The relaxed black T-shirts and jeans look coordinated well for the group and looked crisp and clear in the vibrant pictures. The shoot turned out gorgeously, and as always we were more than excited to deliver the final product!
