Today, we are rolling out the red carpet for one very important lady, my mom! “Mother Shebee” or Valerie, is turning 55 and wants to celebrate in a big way. 😁 I’m just tickled pink that my mom came to me with this important milestone, and I am brewing some cool ideas for this fun, flirty, and fabulous session.😉 I know my mom was excited to do this shoot, and Shebee was going to be sure to deliver.
55, here come’s Valerie! 🥳📸
We started off in studio, and decided to go with a red on red theme, to really elevate the charming red dress my mom wore. Unlike the usual, I started off with the camera, taking shots so that Valerie could get used to the camera. We took a couple easy shots with just a little directing from Ausbee on posing. We’d planned for several different props throughout the shoot, so we immediately got into that with a selection of balloons that I arranged around my mom while Ausbee took over the camera.
We did a few shots with an additional prop along with the balloons, then Valerie went to change into her second outfit, and Ausbee and I let the lights cool while she got the look and makeup done. This time, she’d chosen a deep maroon t-shirt and crisp white jeans. This look also went well with the red backdrop, so we decided to have it remain for the next part of the session. Valerie again posed well while we got several beautiful shots.
Now it’s time for the pyrotechnics😅😉🪄!
We’d grabbed an adorable little cupcake for a prop for the session, and I found some sparklers to get things LIT! 😂 We took several interesting shots with the cupcake and sparklers, and luckily were able to avoid melting a nail! Thank goodness! Next, Ausbee and I prepped our equipment for travel, and Valerie changed into her final look.
We arrived at our second and final location, Cascades Connector Bridge, and set up the camera and light. This time, Valerie was in a warm beige-toned keyhole shirt, with some bootcut jeans and tan suede booties. It looked great in the cool evening, and we quickly captured several great shots on the bridge, both with and without the coral colored balloons we’d used for this portion of the session.
We wrapped the session with a few shots near the lovely cobblestones that form the bottom of the bridge. I’m so excited to show my mom how this awesome session turned out, and hope she has an amazing 55th birthday!
Ausbee and I will see ya’ next time with our camera ready!
